Over the years Thai design has made its mark as contemporary and modern, and we must not forget that it is also rich with culture and tradition. At TIFF 2011 visitors will be able to find both styles at the booths on the show floor.

Over the course of the next few days MyThaiDesign will preview some of the companies that will be present at the Thailand International Furniture Fair.

To begin with, we feature one company that we recently visited: AGAL. AGAL is family-run and full of inspiration. With a background in the antiques market, the family business was finding it more and more challenging to find the quality antiques its clients desired.

Using their knowledge of the market they sought to reproduce the time-honored styles of the past to bring the customer what s/he wanted. AGAL's Chinese-Thai furniture and home decoration items are exported around the world as well as enjoyed closer to home at such locations as the Royal Orchid Sheraton and the TCC Banyan Tree Samui.

The furniture, sculpture, and paintings are created by knowledgeable artisans. AGAL now has over 20 years of production experience; coupled with their understanding of genuine and quality antiques, customers can be confident that their decoration is full of heritage.
