From TIFF to ICFF

Greetings from New York City! We are here visiting the ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair) and we've found some Thai products.
Asian Art Imports travels to Thailand and TIFF looking for new, inspiring products and to source suppliers. Co-owner Wally Stryk was telling us today about how he and his business partner and wife, Pat Stryk, like to showcase Thai products at the ICFF and introduce them to the American market. You can also find Thai designs through Asian Art Imports at the Las Vegas Market.
The horse sculpture seen here was discovered when Mr. Stryk was visiting a street market in Chiang Mai. The producer is part of the local cottage industry. With Stryk's keen eye and knowledge of the US market he asked the artisan if he could make the item much larger than what was on show. The craftsman complied and now this artsy four-legged friend can be found in a variety of sizes for homes and hotels across the country.

Anyone with an interest in furniture design should make an attempt to see this show especially if Paris or Milan aren't in the plans. We found the other exhibitors inspirational. As exhibitors, it was refreshing to meet with attendees that "get it" and are more concerned with design than price point. ICFF was an excellant show for us.
