Alexander Lamont announces Ikebana Exhibition

Alexander Lamont has often used the delicate art of Ikebana in their stores as a counterpoint to the weight and character of their pieces and to underscore the natural spirit and discipline of what they do.

This June they are very pleased to announce the exhibition, THE ART OF IKEBANA AT ALEXANDER LAMONT with NAOMI DAIMARU.

The exhibition will take place from 16 June to 15 July at their two stores on the third floor of Gaysorn Plaza in Bangkok, Thailand and will feature the work of Bangkok-based artist Naomi Daimaru.  Ms. Daimaru will use the art of Ikebana, which means “living flowers” or “giving life to flowers” in Japanese, to display her art form in vessels and objects from the “Alexander Lamont” collection.

Naomi Daimaru is trained in the Ohara school of Ikebana, which emphasizes an adherence to nature and human expression.  On Saturday, the 23rd of June, she will be giving an Ikebana workshop demonstration at the stores, where you will be able to watch Naomi as she creates fresh Ikebana displays for the exhibition.  For your pleasure, Alexander Lamont stores will be serving a cup of Japanese matcha green tea at the workshop.

To register for a workshop, send your requests by email to jeff@alexanderlamont.com.

Places are very limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
