Thai Basketry from SACICT
This is an interesting blog that we found about Thailand and it's craft of basketry from the SACICT(Support Arts and Crafts International Center of Thailand.
Basketry is one of the most well-known Thai products. It has brought a huge amount of income to the Autthaya community for years. Most of the basketry here is made of bamboo and rattan. The shapes are up to the random creativity of the artisans.
Most of the basketwork made here is crockery. It can also be made into traps for catching small animals like rats and fish. See the brilliance of Thai folk wisdom? The basketry can also represent the beliefs and stories of the community and became traditions and then products like we see today.
