The fourth edition of MZ Vienna Fashion Week took place in Vienna on September 12 to the 16, 2012.

The collaboration between fashion week organizer, Zigi Mueller and Thailand’s Department of International Trade and Promotion (DITP), has been responsible for four young Thai designers to show their outfits on the catwalk since 2010.

Pornpimol Petcharakul, the director of the Thai Trade Centre in Vienna, hopes that this will allow and inspire other young Thais to follow their path.

Two of the four designers selected for the 2012 edition had shown in Vienna before.  The two “returnees” were Chatkeo Srisuwan of Mosstories, an accessories and fashion brand and Chalermkiat Khatikasemlert of street-savvy label, Wonder Anatomie.

Austrian fashionistas were key in the selecting of these two designers.  The designers sold the most and garnered the most interest last year in 2011.

Mueller flew to Thailand earlier this year to select her other two designers to invite to the show in Vienna.  She picked Chamaimas Karnasuta of Pisces, a ready-to-wear line and Sansanee Toesomboon of Sane and Molly, a brand of men’s and women’s clothing with a Vintage edge to it. The four designers had to come up with a collection of 20 outfits for their Spring-Summer line 2013.

The venue for the show of Thai designers was packed, proving that Thai designers were among the favorites in the show.
